Day 318

There's something about a juicebox that makes me feel childish glee.

Day 317

You've heard the old Johnny Cash song When It's Springtime in Alaska It's Forty Below? Well apparently when it's springtime in Oklahoma, it's 82 degrees and crystal clear. And yet here I am in one of the skywalks at OUMC that allow you to traverse miles without ever setting foot outdoors.

Day 316

Packed and ready to leave. I have this down to a science.

Day 315

What's the matter, you've never seen a red, white and blue* buffalo before? My favorite part is that it's, um, anatomically correct. This is a streetcorner sculpture in OKC, made of fiberglass, that I noticed while wandering around trying to find a mailbox.

*Nikki- notice the lack of Harvard comma. Took all my willpower.

Day 314

It's definitely springtime in Oklahoma. This is a Bradford pear, one of the few that didn't get destroyed during the December ice storm.

Day 313

Some days I post pictures of some ridiculous shit to meet the requirements of this blog.

Day 312

Easter in Cranesville. Yee-Haw. Here are the boys hangin' out. My pops and Chris, and a fire, of course (edit: and beer). The sad part is that we waited for it to start snowing before we built the fire. And that there's a house about a hundred yards away. On the plus side, we got the fire started Survivorman style.

Day 311

This is the first time I've seen my dad's place since it was bare plywood. He'll move in before the month's over.

Day 310

It was nice to go home this week, but the reason wasn't the cheeriest ever.

Day 309

My first experience with Jet Blue was a good one. Comfy seats, individual direct tv, on time. Beat that.

Day 308

Nikki's bike, fully pimped with rack and lights.

Day 307

Taken to illustrate that I was on the way home from work, yet it was still light outside. Aaah... spring.

Day 306

First ride on our new bikes. Of course we stopped to feed the ducks.

Day 305

I was going to have T-Shirts made for St. Patrick's Day, but then I realized they charge per letter.

Day 304

Thank goodness Stu's always there when it gets down to bedtime and I realize I haven't taken a picture. He's handsome, as always, but if I had waited until today to snap a picture his hair clumps would be gone.

Day 303

I held out for almost a week, but in the end I had to post a picture of my kick-ass new phone.

Day 302

Here are our cats in the process of dosing themselves to the gills with high octane catnip.

Day 301

I was trying to get a picture of the nice sunset, but this is the best I could do without wrecking my car.

Day 300

I took a similar picture a week or two ago, but I don't think I used it. There's just something odd about all the floating stars of david. (woohoo, day 300!)

Day 299

Seen from the top floor, the Cambridgeside Galleria looks like a towering idol of consumerism.

Day 298

Last of a dying breed. There's still a smoking lounge at Will Rogers World Airport. (and at Atlanta Hartsfield, Dulles, and a couple of others) Some of the old reliables are gone, though. (Charlotte, Pittsburgh)

Day 297

These are horses hitched to a rail outside OKC's children's hospital. They belong to a man named Ezra Cooley, who is currently riding around the world. He came in to do a media event with sick kids and raise money for kids' charities.

Day 296

Room service and TV. That's the best way to spend the evening after a couple of 6am start times.

Day 295

I had dinner at a brew pub. That's some sort of fermentation doohickey in the picture.

Day 294

Some sort of public transit at Chicago O'Hare.

Day 293

We dropped Nikki's mother off at the train station at an unreasonably early hour today.

Day 292

This is a traditional nautical chart of the Marshall Islands. The sticks represent currents and prevailing winds, while the shells represent islands. I snuck a surreptitious picture of it at the MFA.

Day 291

This picture is meant to illustrate the worst haircut in the world. It's uneven on top, crooked in the back, and (worst of all, in my opinion) the barber shaved my sideburns up a good half inch above where I keep them. There's an excuse for almost everything that might go wrong with a haircut, but how can you decide to just shave off a half-inch of sideburns that I obviously don't shave every morning? I look like an asshole now, and I have to travel next week.

Day 290

This is rabbit stew. Tasty. I don't know why it's served on a plate and not a bowl, though.

Day 289

My car looks so lonely when I leave work late.

Day 288

I'm shockingly handsome. No wonder all the ladies love me.

Day 287

Nikki did my laundry for me while I was at work... I'm shocked and grateful.
